Background

This project was developed as a university thesis to explore new educational methods. The goal was to create an engaging and effective learning tool for plant reproduction by combining gamification and marker-based augmented reality to improve student comprehension and retention.

Strategy & Solution

  • Develop an AR mobile app to visualize plant reproduction concepts.
  • Implement gamification features in a quiz module to boost student engagement.
  • Rigorously test the application's functionality using BlackBox Testing to ensure a stable user experience.
  • Validate the educational effectiveness of the app using pre-test and post-test evaluations with a cohort of 30 students.

Responsibilities & Scope

  • Developed an AR-based mobile application for plant reproduction education.

Results & Impact

  • Increased average post-test scores from 56.13 to 84.67, a 50.9% improvement.
  • Achieved 100% functionality across core features in BlackBox testing.
  • Achieved an N-Gain score of 0.64, indicating significant learning gains.
